a bonsai

Come to Sherman Library & Gardens this Saturday and Sunday August 5 and 6 and discover the art of bonsai. The show will include an exhibition of exquisite miniature trees presented by the Orange Empire Bonsai Society and will introduce visitors to a variety of techniques and approaches.

Following ancient Japanese tradition, the trees are intended to replicate the character of old trees found in nature by using trees and shrubs grown in containers. Learn more about the art of dwarfing and transforming nature’s gifts into a living work of art.

Orange Empire Bonsai Society is a group of bonsai enthusiasts dedicated to sharing their skills and inspiring the next generation or growers. Members will be available during the show to provide advice and information, including talks and workshops.
