The Scottish Regiment resumes training at Courtenay’s Seal Bay

The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s) is in the zone June 1-5

The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s), a unit of the Primary Reserve Army based on Vancouver Island, will lead infantry training for soldiers from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland in the area of practice from Seal Bay to Courtenay during the first week of June.

The training takes place from June 1 to 5. The public is advised that the training will take place day and night. Residents of the area can expect to hear occasional noises from blank ammunition firing inside the Seal Bay training area at various times. There will also be a slight increase in traffic around the facility.

Health measures related to COVID-19 are applied at all times. Participants, who began their training on May 10 in Nanaimo, will have completed a 22-day work quarantine by the time they arrive in Seal Bay and will remain in their course bubble for the duration of their stay in Courtenay.
